Privacy Policy for KRUG

Last updated: 14 August 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the mobile game KRUG ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. By using the App you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Local device data

The App always saves your game progress and preferences (best score, level/XP, daily results, cosmetics, sound/haptics/accessibility settings) locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you opt in to an online account (see below), and is removed when you uninstall the App.

Account data (optional online features — leaderboards, weekly league, cloud save)

The App can optionally connect to our own game-services backend, MojoHub (operated by us), to enable weekly leaderboards, leagues, and cloud save. This connects automatically as an anonymous, device-only account — no action needed, and no personal information is involved unless you choose to link an email:

  • Anonymous device ID: a random identifier generated on your device, used to keep your scores and cloud save associated with this install. Not personal information on its own.
  • Email address and password (optional): only collected if you choose "Link email" or "Log in" in Account settings. This lets your progress survive a reinstall or move to a new device. Used solely for authenticating you — never for marketing, and never shared outside MojoHub's infrastructure, which we operate ourselves.
  • Display name (optional, chosen by you): shown publicly to other players on the weekly leaderboard, next to your score. Avoid using your real name if you don't want it visible to other players.
  • Gameplay data: your score, campaign level, achievements, and a save-game snapshot (settings, progress, cosmetics) are synced to MojoHub so your leaderboard rank and cloud save work. This is not shared with anyone besides being shown, anonymously or by display name, on in-app leaderboards.

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from our server at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. This does not affect the game progress saved locally on your device.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process data such as:

  • a device advertising identifier (Advertising ID / IDFA),
  • device and technical information (model, OS version, language, IP-derived coarse location),
  • ad interaction and app-usage signals.

We do not receive this data in identifiable form. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services".

App analytics (Expo EAS Observe)

The App uses Expo's EAS Observe service to measure basic app performance (e.g. how quickly screens load) and a small set of gameplay funnel events (e.g. "tutorial completed", "run ended", "ad shown"). These events never include your name, email, or any other personal identifier — only counts, timings, and generic labels. This data is processed by Expo as our technical service provider.

Legal basis and consent (GDPR / EEA & UK)

For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the App presents a consent dialog (Google's User Messaging Platform) before serving personalized ads. You can choose to accept or decline. If you decline, you will still see ads, but non-personalized ones. You can change your choice at any time from Settings → Ad privacy options within the App (shown where applicable), or via your device's ad settings.

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads are configured for a general audience.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data. Data is processed by:

  • Google AdMob, as our advertising service provider (see above);
  • Expo, as our technical service provider for app analytics (see above);
  • MojoHub, our own backend infrastructure — email, password, display name and gameplay data collected there stay within our own systems and are not shared with any outside company, except that your display name and score are, by design, visible to other players on public in-app leaderboards.

We do not share data with any other third parties.

Data retention

Local game data is kept on your device until you delete the App. Account data (if you created one) is retained until you delete your account in-app or request deletion via the contact below. Ad-related data is retained by Google, and analytics data by Expo, according to their own retention policies.

Your rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data and to withdraw consent.

  • Local game data: stored only on your device — clear the App's data or uninstall it to remove it.
  • Account data (email, display name, gameplay data on MojoHub): delete it yourself at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account, or contact us at the address below to request access, correction, or deletion.
  • Ad-related data held by Google: see Google's Privacy Policy linked above, or adjust your device's "Ads" / "Reset advertising ID" settings.

Security

We rely on the operating system's standard protections for locally stored game data, and on standard encrypted (HTTPS) connections for any data sent to MojoHub. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
